چکیده
Abstract To test the hypothesis that poor maternal nutrition during gestation would alter offspring muscle shear force and adipogenesis, fibrogenesis, myogenesis mRNA expression, Dorset ewes (n=46) pregnant with twins were fed 100%, 60% or 140% of NRC requirements from d30±0.02 until parturition. Male CON (n=12), OVER (n=13), RES (n=21) euthanized at d284±1.82 longissimus (LM) was harvested for gene expression. Vacuum-sealed LM steaks aged 10 d postmortem (4℃) tenderness measured using Warner-Bratzler (WBSF) methodology. RNA isolated to quantify expression genes related adipogenesis (fatty acid binding protein 4, CCAAT/enhancer-binding α, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ), fibrogenesis [collagen A1A (COLA1A), COL3A1, cystain-c, fibronectin (FN1), lysyl oxidase (LOX)], [bone-morphogenic (BMP)-1, myostatin, myogenin, myogenic differentiation 1). The WBSF decreased by 21% 18% in relative (P=0.01) (P=0.03), respectively, but not different (P=0.60). Expression BMP1 1.5- 1.8-fold greater than CON, respectively (P≤0.03). FN1 1.6-fold (P=0.02). COL1A1 2.2-fold (P=0.05) (P=0.07). LOX 37% compared (P=0.04) (P=0.08). An effect diet observed other (P≥0.18). In summary, had no difference CON. Over-feeding increased meat tenderness, which may be due reduced collagen cross-linking LOX.

Effects of Poor Maternal Nutrition during Gestation on Bone Development and Mesenchymal Stem Cell Activity in Offspring
Poor maternal nutrition impairs overall growth and development of offspring. These changes can significantly impact the general health and production efficiency of offspring. Specifically, poor maternal nutrition is known to reduce growth of bone and muscle, and increase adipose tissue. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are multipotent stem cells which contribute to development of these tissues and ...
متن کاملMechanical Force Alters Morphogenetic Movements and Segmental Gene Expression Patterns during Drosophila Embryogenesis
The development of an organism is accompanied by various cellular morphogenetic movements, changes in cellular as well as nuclear morphology and transcription programs. Recent evidence suggests that intra and inter-cellular connections mediated by various adhesion proteins contribute to defining nuclear morphology. In addition, three dimensional organization of the cell nucleus regulate the tra...
متن کاملPotentially adaptive effects of maternal nutrition during gestation on offspring phenotype of a viviparous reptile.
Viviparous reptiles have been used as model species for many studies that seek to explain the evolution of viviparity. The vast majority of such studies have focused on the advantage viviparity provides with regards to maternal control of embryonic developmental temperature. However, viviparity may also allow increased control of nutrient transfer, such that mothers adaptively manipulate offspr...
متن کاملImpacts of Maternal Nutrition on Vascularity of Nutrient Transferring Tissues during Gestation and Lactation
As the demand for food increases with exponential growth in the world population, it is imperative that we understand how to make livestock production as efficient as possible in the face of decreasing available natural resources. Moreover, it is important that livestock are able to meet their metabolic demands and supply adequate nutrition to developing offspring both during pregnancy and lact...
